A Journey Against the Current

Life is a journey against the current, and I am but a traveler. We have all leapt into the abyss in our darkest moments, thinking it would set us free, never realizing it was fate pulling us along. Lin Yan, an ordinary social worker from Earth, chose to leap into the void in despair over his critically ill young son, only to find himself in the Seven-Ring Starfield. There is no fairness or salvation here, only the wails of the Bone Desert, the slaughter of the Void Beast tide, and the suffering and struggles of its many races. He holds fast to his resolve never to kill, pitting his mortal body against the laws of the starfield. He bears witness to suffering and feels for the weak, learning fury, remorse, acceptance, and redemption through the countless times he protects others. The Bone Ring's defense, the Poison Ring's purification, the Dragon Ring's unification: the seven primordial ring systems are both living beings' hope for survival and the brand of fate. After ninety-eight lifetimes and nine lives filled with regret, this time he will anchor himself in humanity and break the shackles of order. He will make protection no longer his sole obsession, and let coexistence become the ultimate answer for the Seven Rings.
