The Galaxy Story Convenience Store: I Collect Ideas Across the Universe

Have you ever lost sleep all night over a story that left you aching for a better ending?

Have you ever wondered if the stories that were abandoned, forgotten, or smeared really exist somewhere in a corner of the galaxy?

Lin Zhan, a web novelist dubbed the “King of Botched Endings,” pushed open the door of the Galaxy Story Convenience Store on a stormy night. The shopkeeper, A Shi, told him that this was the anchor point for all narratives in the universe: every bottle of drink, every can of food, and every book on the shelves corresponded to a living story planet. The stories that had been betrayed were being devoured by a black mist known as “Nothingness.” Once they vanished completely, all the memories and emotions tied to them would disappear from the universe forever.

From the golden cudgel of Journey to the West to the bronze cauldron of Investiture of the Gods, from the dark forest of The Three-Body Problem to the fiery summers of childhood cartoons, from office workers laboring overtime in high-rises to teachers lighting lamps in remote mountain villages, Lin Zhan and his companions ventured time and again into dying story planets. They never forcibly rewrote the endings. They only awakened each character's sense of self and mended the regrets that had lingered for millennia.

But Lin Zhan didn't know that Qing Xuan, the aloof and powerful rogue cultivator by his side, was the second male lead he'd personally written to death and left to rot in a document. Nor did he know that every time he continued a story, and every reader's comment and gaze, was the ultimate weapon against Nothingness.
