A war broke out on the western border, and the forward positions were in critical condition because of ammunition shortage. Li Rui, a member of the Air Force's transport aviation unit, was ordered in the face of danger. Three Y-9 formations took off late at night and passed through the Death Valley filled with anti-aircraft missiles and anti-aircraft guns. They broke through the defenses amid encirclement and artillery fire from enemy aircraft. Using their fuselage as a shield and their lives as a thread, they sent life-saving ammunition to the position, protecting the country and their comrades with loyalty and courage.
