The Great Sui Imperial Tutor

My soul carried a divine seed across a thousand years; with iron bones and a loyal heart, I served the emperor.

Machines opened up a thousand miles of frontier; advances in farming brought plenty and secured the land.

The Grand Canal would preserve an enduring legacy, while cavalry rode far across the desert.

This was no barren ruler’s dream in the Sui palace: in a single dynasty, Emperor Yang united the Central Plains.

My name is Chen Ke. Before I died, I was the chief scientist at a national key laboratory. I specialized in mechanical dynamics, metal materials, engineering mechanics, and modern agricultural breeding, spanning four fields: engineering, science, agriculture, and industry.

During an experiment with a new propulsion system, the equipment exploded, and a blinding light swallowed my consciousness.

When I opened my eyes again, I was a down-and-out scholar in the Great Sui, in the fourth year of Renshou. Emperor Wen of Sui was gravely ill, and Yang Guang was about to ascend the throne.

Clutched tightly to my chest was a sealed miniature seed-breeding box.

High-yield potato seeds, lodging-resistant rice seeds, drought-tolerant corn seeds, and premium wheat seeds.

These were the sparks that could overturn the fortunes of an ancient dynasty.

I immediately made up my mind:

I would survive. I would seize power. I would assist Yang Guang. I would make the Great Sui the first superpower in human history built on agriculture and industry.
