Memoirs of a Slave

The first person narrates the life of Liu Yu in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, starting from a humble commoner and a soldier in Beifu. He writes about bloody battles on the battlefield and military records. It also integrates Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism to cut through the class barriers among the Eastern Jin gentry and the poor family. It uses his achievements in the troubled times to reflect the officialdom of ancient and modern times, and restores the complete life of a warrior who was torn between killing, machinations and his true heart.
