In 1982, after Li Xiaopeng graduated from the Electric Power Engineering Department of North China Electric Power Institute, he was assigned to work as a technician at the System Institute of Guangzhou Electric Power Research Institute. While having dinner at a Guangzhou restaurant, Li Xiaopeng met Ms. Wu Xiuqin, who had come all the way from Baiyin, Gansu Province to work as a waitress in a Guangzhou restaurant.
