Winds Rise in Yuhang

He Yuqing has spent twenty-five years living in a small third-tier city, following the path her parents laid out for her. They have arranged a blind date, picked her wedding date, and even worked out when she should have a C-section. Unwilling to let her parents control her life, she decides to take a chance in Hangzhou. Living in an apartment building, she meets Du Pan'er, a food delivery worker weighed down by huge debts she took on to be a “dutiful daughter.” There is Hu Huifang, who swallows her grievances and scrambles to raise enough money for her sick child’s medical bills while trying to be a good “mom.” And there is Xu Jiamin, an eighteen-year-old who takes out a loan for plastic surgery in hopes of becoming a “top influencer.” Though their lives are completely different, they all seem trapped by the same old shackles. As women who have come to Hangzhou to pursue their fortunes, how will they find their own way forward?
