Fifty-Five, Walking into Spring

At her grandmother’s funeral, Qiao Jia met the whole other family her grandfather had kept hidden. Her grandmother had died with regrets, and Qiao Jia was consumed by remorse and pain. She spent the night sleepless in her grandmother’s bed, convinced her grandmother’s spirit refused to leave. When she awoke, she had returned to twenty years earlier, where she met her grandmother, Ge Huimin, at the age of fifty-five. A plan to save her grandmother was soon underway. Qiao Jia took her grandmother to school to learn, helping her break free from outdated beliefs and encouraging her to bravely pursue the life she longed for, her Back to Field. After breaking apart and rebuilding her life again and again, Ge Huimin, who had been shackled by her beliefs all her life, finally took her first step toward living for herself and bravely told her husband no. With Qiao Jia’s guidance, Ge Huimin was finally liberated in her thinking and understood that there was more than one way to live. It was as if she had glimpsed a beautiful new world.
