Youthful Innovation

Shen Lan, Lu Yichen, and the fathers of two others were fellow townsmen who left for the provincial capital in their youth to make a living. Their fathers’ differing personalities shaped their very different destinies, and the next generation grew up along equally divergent paths. Shen Lan and Lu Yichen meet through the manufacturing industry. At first they clash like flint and steel, unable to stand one another, but gradually come to admire each other and join each other’s circles of friends. The four become close friends. Whether they are working in advanced smart manufacturing or making humble rice noodles and pickled vegetables, these ambitious young people share a pioneering, innovative spirit. They may be the same age, but they write their own distinct stories of striving.
