In the nineteenth year of the Minghe era of Southern Chu, a murder involving an imperial inspector outside the capital blows open the mystery surrounding the empire’s northwestern frontier. The eldest prince, who is presiding over the case, travels west to Dingxi Commandery. There, the arrival of the two princes sets several forces in motion: Marshal Meng, whose achievements have made the throne fear him and whose life now hangs by a thread; the secretive and enigmatic Prince Xilin, who is compassionate at heart; and the mysterious Xilin Chun organization hidden underground. Their actions lead one after another to major cases, including the Heavenly Secret case and the jade mine case, gradually revealing the truth behind the murder in Jindu. In the northwest lies a small country blessed with rare treasures of gold and jade, which was destroyed by years of war. The queen of that country, who escaped the palace, is forced to reveal her true identity as the prince investigates the case, bringing to light a chapter of history unknown to the world. What connection does it have to the palace of Southern Chu?
