The Trial Bride

Jin Yuan was sent to the Zhao household as a trial bride, with three days to prove herself. By chance, she caught the eye of Zhao Feixun, her future husband. She thought he was only briefly taken with her, but after she returned to the Duke's residence, his pursuit began. She tried desperately to avoid him, but he always found a way to come close and torment her. When she tried to marry someone else, he saw through her plan, dragged her back, and punished her severely. When her young lady's unchastity led the Zhao family to break off the marriage, leaving Jin Yuan to be sold, he came to her rescue again. It was only when Jin Yuan had given up hope and decided to repay him by becoming his servant or concubine that she learned it had all been part of his scheme. She cut off all ties and fled, at last finding a good match. But on her wedding night, General Zhao came with his sword in hand. Like a demon from the night, the bloodshot-eyed general slashed open her red bridal veil. “Who dares marry Zhao Feixun's woman!”
