The Phoenix Pillow over the Riverlands

The thing Jun Ning regretted most was saving a prince named Xiao Yunjie one winter. When the hare is dead, the hunting dog is cooked; when the birds are gone, the good bow is put away. She helped him ascend the throne, and he promised her the only empress's seat. But in the end, he told her, “Bei needs a virtuous empress,” and shot an arrow through her heart. Given another chance, she swears to fight only for herself and for the thirty thousand wrongly slain soldiers of the Southern Garrison. Everyone who once bullied and humiliated her will pay!

The Xuan Prince, Xiao Moyuan, is a noble fourth prince, but a plot against him leaves him disfigured and blind. He thought he would spend the rest of his life drifting through the days in a daze, until one day he met a young woman named Jun Ning. She was clever, bold, quick-witted, and attentive, unlike any young lady he had ever met. She was like a beam of light shining into his heart. Blind for three years, Xiao Moyuan had never wanted more desperately to see again. He wanted to look at Jun Ning, even if only once.

A little scene: Archery competition at the training grounds. Xiao Moyuan is blind, and every year he becomes the target of everyone's ridicule. He is used to it and would rather ignore them. Then a hand, calloused just a little, takes his and helps him up. “Don't be afraid. I'll take you there,” she says. At the range, Jun Ning stands on the step behind Xiao Moyuan, presses her palms against his, draws the bow, and shoots. Three arrows, all hitting the bull's-eye.

P.S. This is a historical romance, a historical romance! It's set in an imaginary world and has nothing to do with real life!!!
