The Empress Isn’t Fighting for Favor, She’s Just Trying to Outwork the Entire Harem

Shen Chang’an died. When she opened her eyes, she had become the only foolish young lady of the Prince of Zhenbei’s household in the Great Zhou, and was made empress as soon as she came of age. Shen Chang’an thought, Can a fool really become empress? And everything in this palace is so strange. The emperor went on a personal campaign as soon as he ascended the throne, leaving the two women in charge of the inner palace: a foolish empress and a mad empress dowager! She had never seen such an absurd dynasty in either of her lives. How had it not been conquered yet? And the eunuchs’ clothes were patched from collar to shoes. Shen Chang’an was dumbfounded. Just how poor were they?

Fortunately, she had a pocket dimension and a hundred billion in supplies. From then on, Shen Chang’an set herself a clear goal: lead the Great Zhou toward wealth and strength. But the empress was so focused on her work that the concubines couldn’t take it anymore.

The Noble Consort, Consort Li, and the other concubines said, “Your Majesty, let’s compete for His Majesty’s favor.”

The empress replied, “I’m busy.”

The consorts exchanged looks. Consort Li asked the Noble Consort with a mournful expression, “What do we do?”

The Noble Consort said, “We can’t beat her, outmaneuver her, or talk her into it. We can only join her.”

…When the emperor returned victorious, he discovered that the whole Great Zhou had changed. His younger siblings cared only about their sister-in-law and not their brother. The palace concubines clung to the empress, the ministers clung to the empress, and the people of the realm clamored for the empress too.

The emperor cried, “Where is my imperial authority?!”

A month later, the empress discovered that the emperor had become an attachment clinging to her leg. No matter what she did, she couldn’t shake him off.
