A Guide to Taming Nonhumans

A strange game appeared on Tang Nian’s phone, one that only she could see. [Welcome to the Healing Game. Please choose your map carefully.] A: The Lost Temple. Rescue the imprisoned fallen angel. The beautiful, mysterious creature was bound with silver chains that pierced his snowy-white wings. Trembling, he opened his crystal-clear eyes. Desire stained his cold, beautiful face. He humbly begged the visiting girl to save him. The player’s task: make the angel fall. B: The Gilded Hall. Kidnap the beautiful boy from the auction. The beautiful boy, brought to an aristocratic banquet as a plaything, is trapped in a cage and on the verge of despair. The player will randomly become one of the banquet’s nobles and take him away. Deceive him, hurt him, and send the innocent boy plunging into the abyss. C: The Misty City. A wasteland era, invaded by fungi. A terrifying unknown creature takes the innocent form of a human, completely unguarded against the world. The player’s task is to comfort him, embrace him, and let him experience the good in life, then trick him into a genetic engineering center and lock him in a laboratory. D: The Prison of Data. In the age of artificial intelligence, cold AIs rule the world. Humans have become caged pets, unaware that they are being kept in captivity. The player’s task is to give the cold algorithms something they lack: emotions. Then implant a virus and delete the program. To survive, Tang Nian keeps traveling between the different maps. Until one day, a string of ancient writing suddenly appears in the app: [Now, they belong to you.] The fantasy creatures she abandoned in the game have all come looking for her.
