Blessings for the Crown Prince

Everyone knows that Crown Prince Zhao Zhe is noble and aloof, a paragon of self-restraint and propriety. Li Can, who was ordered to study under him, is proud and flamboyant, and often gets her palm struck. There is simply no chance she could become the Crown Princess. Until one day, outside the state banquet, someone saw Zhao Zhe kneeling on one knee with red-rimmed eyes, clutching Li Can and babbling nonsense: “Yaoyao, don’t go. Let me take the ruler and hit you back, all right...”

At first, she was restless and playful, with no ambition. After getting her palm struck, she would curl up in his arms and cry, “Couldn’t you be a little gentler with me?” Zhao Zhe: “How improper!”

Later, another young woman was ordered to move into the Eastern Palace. Li Can: “I’m cutting ties with you for good...” Zhao Zhe bent down and captured her lips. “Even the sharpest tongue turns soft when kissed.”

Later still, the two were joined in marriage and lived in harmony. Zhao Zhe: “Crown Princess, couldn’t you be a little gentler with me?” Li Can: “How improper!” Zhao Zhe angrily leaned over her and bit the tip of her ear. “I’m improper, I’m improper, all right?”
