The Nonhuman Caretaker

The world underwent a cataclysm, and the oceans swallowed 90% of the land. Mysterious creatures rose from the seabed, noble and arrogant, beautiful and dangerous. Tang Rou was once their keeper, but she fell into the trap they had carefully woven beneath their harmless facade. A delicate young sea hare clutched her hand, murmuring through tear-filled eyes, “Rou, don’t go...” A handsome octopus youth, sculpted like a statue, shielded her and let no one come near. “I’ll make myself more useful. Please don’t give up on me...” Most dangerous of all was the breathtaking merman stranded on the shore. He manipulated the wheel of fate, guarding her with near-obsessive devotion. What does a cold-blooded creature do when he falls in love? Disguise himself as one of her kind, get close to her, and win her heart.
