Chen Yong transmigrates to the Hongwu era of the Ming dynasty, starting out as a Hanlin Academy professor who is ostracized for being obsessed with novels and storybooks, as well as mathematics and astronomy. The young man pesters Chen Yong all day with questions. “Mr. Chen, is it true that climate can determine the fate of a dynasty?” “Mr. Chen, will the Ming dynasty really last less than three hundred years?” “Mr. Chen, how can we break through this unprecedented upheaval of the millennium?” One day, just as the Hanlin Academy's director is about to strip Chen Yong of his professorship for neglecting his duties in favor of unorthodox pursuits, the young hothead steps forward. “Mr. Chen, you shouldn't be wasting your talents at this insignificant academy!” “I am Zhu Di, Prince of Yan!” “My father is the Hongwu Emperor!” “I implore you to enter the court as chief minister and help restore the Ming dynasty to greatness!” Chen Yong: “???”
