Half Boy, Half Father

The novel will start from his son's second grade in junior high school and cover his life span until he becomes a father at the age of forty. The "half-way" in "half-way boy" refers to the key half-way from boyhood to youth (from junior high school to college graduation and entry into the workplace) - this is his transformation period from rebellious ignorance to maturity and responsibility, and is the most plastic stage in life; it also implies that "youth is only half of the journey of life". The wind and rain in the second half need to be walked by himself, but the companionship and guidance in the first half determine his attitude of taking root. The "half-life" of "half-life father" is the father's half-life journey from novice to mature. From his son's anxiety and confusion in the second grade of junior high school, to watching him go to school, fall in love, work, and start a family, and then witnessing him face his own son's rebellion—for most of his life, the father's role changed from "discipline" to "listener", from "anxious parent" to "relieved person." The son's "half-way journey as a young man" is the father's "half-life journey as a father"; the son grows up in rebellion, and the father awakens in companionship; in the end, the son also becomes a father, and only then does he understand that his "half-way journey as a young man" hides his father's "half-life concern".
