A Breeze on the Island

The first rule in Jiang He’s workplace survival handbook: Stay away from that temp worker named Lu Jinhan!

This man is unruly in word and deed, like a ticking time bomb. His identity is a mystery, and he seems downright dangerous. From their very first meeting, he gave her the shock of a reckless drunkard’s hangover and a “sprained-ankle gift package,” making him a walking workplace disaster.

Until one typhoon night, he shielded her from the gale blowing through a shattered window and asked softly, “Was that cup of isatis root tea you made for me?”

Until she discovered that this temp worker earning just 800 yuan a month was hiding astonishing abilities and a heart that softened only for her beneath his carefree facade.

What do you think a grassroots court is like? Cold gavels and piles of legal documents stamped in bright red? Wrong! It is full of warm, lovable people, each with their own stories, and cases that are tedious, bizarre, or downright hilarious. The little island is breezy, but there is also a warmth and fluttering affection that even the wind cannot blow away. When two masters who hide their true colors face off, who will be exposed first, and who will fall in love first?
