Warhammer 40K: The Place the Emperor Never Looked Upon

From its towering peak to its deepest roots, the hive city of Casima is a vertical tomb.

The nobleman Driak Vansher once stood watch over the tomb’s summit, looking down on all creation. Then a calamity stripped him of every title, every glory, and even his humanity, casting him into the seething sins and refuse of the lower levels.

The miner Mig’s entire world was the drill trembling in his hands and the heretical whispers in his ears, never ceasing to say that “the Emperor abandoned Casima long ago.” When a tunnel collapsed, he heard the “true voice” and unearthed a mysterious, faintly glowing relic from a mass of flesh and ore.

As Driak learned to trade his teeth for a chance to survive amid acid rain and violence, Mig used the relic to kindle a wildfire of faith in the depths, becoming the “Fist of Dawn.”

One fell downward, the other blazed upward. Then a war that would consume the galaxy drove them both to a crossroads of fate: would they join hands to ignite a heretical fire that burned the old world to ashes, or sacrifice one another in a final act of loyalty to please the God-Emperor?

The gears have rusted, the gods are silent as iron, and only the choice between blood and iron rings deafeningly loud.
