Eaten Away by the Eternal Night

At the very moment Su Zhan and his teammate Chen Shanhe cleared the ultimate dungeon, Endless Battlefield, they were not greeted by the glory of victory. Instead, they were cast into a world of absolute reality.

This was the Evernight Era, three thousand years before the game’s setting: the darkest age, when humanity struggled to survive beneath the claws of demons and monsters.

They became two low-ranking soldiers in Bone-Eroding Camp, part of the Blackwater River defensive line, battered and unarmed.

The System they had relied on for survival had completely crashed, leaving only a broken interface to mock their predicament.

Worse still, the military camp itself seemed to be slowly hollowing out from within, gnawed away by a strange presence known as the Heart-Eroding Worm.

In a dark night of driving rain, they crawled out of a pit of corpses to face:

Monsters wearing human skin, military rules shrouded in secrecy, game knowledge that no longer worked, and a wholly unfamiliar, perilous world of darkness.

There were only two things Su Zhan knew for certain:

First, they had to use the combat instincts honed in the game to survive this real-life purgatory.

Second, this world seemed to recognize them as players from the “future,” and to harbor… a deep malice toward them.

When darkness devours everything, only the pain of being gnawed to the bone can reveal what lies true in the heart.

This is a desperate journey through the cracks of history, a fight for survival and the truth.
