Stop Practicing Martial Arts, Grandpa, Pick Up a Brush!

A tide of ghosts swept across the land, black fog blotted out the sun, and the Lin family, the greatest martial arts clan in Great Xia, was wiped out!

Reborn in a single day, he found himself back ten days before the ghosts descended!

Carrying the blood feud of his annihilated clan, Lin Yan gripped the one card that could turn his fate around. He knew that when the ghost tide arrived, Blue Star would be shrouded in a curse that would reduce humanity’s artistic skill tenfold. He also knew that pure sable-hair brushes would transform into spirit-summoning brushes, while jade pigments would crystallize into spirit-summoning powder! Only by completing spirit diagrams before the curse took effect, then adding the final stroke, the “eyes,” when the ghosts appeared, could they awaken spirits powerful enough to slay them!

“Starting today, everyone in the Lin family, young and old, put down your swords and boxing gloves. You’re all going to learn to paint!”

His startling words in the council chamber were met with an uproar from the entire clan. Lin Yan tore open his shirt, revealing the hideous scars left by ghost claws in his previous life. His voice trembled with anguish as he said, “The ghosts will arrive in ten days! Believe me, and the Lin family can survive. Don’t, and we’re all doomed!”

The earthquake came, strange phenomena appeared, and one prophecy after another came true. At last, the entire Lin family united as one. Martial arts masters picked up brushes to practice their strokes, while the elderly, the weak, women, and children drew shield spirits to protect their home. Lin Yan even painted a spirit diagram of the clan’s guardian beast, the Hell-Suppressing Qilin!

The ten-day countdown ended. The hour of the Rat arrived, ghost fog churned, and the curse took effect!

As everyone held glowing spirit-summoning brushes dipped in seven-colored spirit-summoning powder and added the crucial final stroke to their diagrams, a Sky-Rending Battle Dragon roared into the heavens, a Black Tortoise Divine Shield enveloped the ancestral home, flowing-light phoenix butterflies healed their wounds, and the Hell-Suppressing Qilin descended amid flames!

In this life, Lin Yan was no longer a helpless child. With spirit-summoned beings as his armor, he led the Lin family in carving out a path through bloodshed, burying every ghost beneath the spirit diagrams.
