Lin Mo: Side Story One

On the Wutian Continent, within the Lingxue Sect, young Lin Mo grew up under the protection of Su Hanyi. After eighteen years of being raised by her, he depended on the woman he called his mother with all his heart. But the revelation of the truth about his origins turned his life upside down: Su Hanyi was the very person who had slaughtered his entire Lin clan. A blood feud and the warmth of a childhood spent in her care tore his life apart in an instant.

To avenge his clan, Lin Mo embarked on a path of arduous cultivation. He awakened a talent for both alchemy and martial arts, and the soul cultivator Lingyun Zhenren guided him on his way. His strength advanced rapidly, and he grew from a young disciple into a Deity Transformation powerhouse who shook the cultivation world. On the day he returned, he slaughtered his way through the Lingxue Sect and confronted Su Hanyi. Faced with the sword of the child she had once raised, Su Hanyi offered no excuses. She asked only to pay for her crimes with her life. Remembering the eighteen years she had raised him, Lin Mo did not kill her himself. Instead, he made her end her own life to repay the blood debt.

After Su Hanyi died, Lin Mo felt no satisfaction at having avenged his clan, only endless sorrow. He had a coffin made of cold jade and a tombstone carved from snow stone, then buried her on the back slope of Snow-Mirrored Peak, where they had once spent so much time together. He spent the entire night at her grave, speaking of the tender memories that hatred had buried. For decades afterward, Lin Mo guarded the Peach Haven Realm and brought peace to the world. His Dao heart grew ever clearer, and he eventually ascended to immortality, yet he could never fully erase Su Hanyi's mark from his heart.

This tangled bond of gratitude and grievance, spanning half a lifetime, ultimately left its share of regrets in the river of time. The hatred was real, and so was the kindness. The end of revenge was not liberation, but understanding the deep affection and helplessness behind the silence.
