In the near future, humans discover that "time" is a measurable physical dimension that wrinkles like cloth. A gifted few can sense and enter these "folds of time" - potential branches of history. The protagonist of the story, Su Yan, is a "time restorer" whose duty is to repair abnormal folds and ensure the stability of the main line of history.
