In the turbulent red era, the time traveler Chen Ping'an became an unknown temporary worker from rural areas to the city in the Red Star Courtyard. He decided to hide his vision beyond the times, and with a fun-loving attitude, he watched the daily life of everyone in the courtyard scheming over trivial matters. In the first act, while adapting to the hard work in the steel plant and the sophistication of the people in the courtyard, he meets the simple and kind-hearted girl Lin Shuwan, and faces his first dilemma: should he use future knowledge to quickly turn around, break the peace and attract fear, or should he hide behind the scenes and endure poverty to protect this rare innocence and tranquility?
