The surface of the world is covered by absolute zero-degree permanently frozen ice, and humans live in giant upside-down tower cities extending downward from the ice. Contrary to conventional wisdom, "down" represents warmth, energy and privilege (close to the heat source at the center of the earth), while "up", close to the ice, represents cold, poverty and death.
