My Homeroom Teacher Can Hear the Echoes of Life

Lin Yi, an ordinary middle school teacher, is knocked unconscious when an ancient tree struck by lightning crashes down on him. He wakes to find himself with a “useless” superpower: he can hear plants chatter.

The pothos in his classroom grumbles about too much chalk dust. The succulents in the teachers’ office complain that their colleagues always forget to water them. The cactus his son gave him keeps shouting that it wants more sunshine...

Then he discovers what this ability is really for:

Through the potted plants on the windowsill, he “hears” the breakdown behind a top student’s perfect smile. Through the grass beside the sports field, he senses an athlete’s uncertainty about the future. Through a withered asparagus fern in a student’s home, he sees the silent war raging within a family.

From then on, his life as a homeroom teacher takes a sharp turn:

· Dealing with young love? No, he’s addressing “adolescent difficulties with emotional expression.”

· Tackling internet addiction? No, he’s providing “guidance on values in the virtual world.”

· Mediating conflicts between parents? No, he’s carrying out “a restoration of family relationships.”

While other teachers are still struggling to keep their classes in order, he’s already using the plants’ “emotional weather map” to predict the mood of the classroom that day.

While parents are still fretting over whether to push their children or let them grow freely, he’s already helping each child find the pace that suits them best.

This is a story about real education, told through the most fantastical of premises.

Watch as a homeroom teacher with the “Echoes of Life” ability learns to hear the faintest voices in every child’s heart amid the everyday chaos of teaching.
