The Storyteller of the Scarlet Devil Mansion

After transmigrating to Gensokyo, where monsters roam everywhere and gods lie by the roadside, Yun Mo lands a steady job: serving as the Scarlet Devil Mansion's young mistress's "exclusive storyteller."

He thinks that cozying up to a vampire will let him take it easy, but life in Gensokyo is one major upheaval every five days, with a minor one every three. The moon has been stolen? He negotiates. The forest is running amok? He translates. The new shrine maiden has burned the city official's donation box? He... gets roped into guiding her around.

The good news: with a silver tongue that could bring the dead back to life, he's become known as a "drinking champion of the oni," a "guest of honor in the Netherworld," and "a rival to the Sages of the Moon."

The bad news: the more titles he earns, the more trouble follows. Especially when an overly naive shrine maiden starts worshipping him as an idol, and the Scarlet Devil Mansion's young mistress gives him a "kind" look. Then he truly understands:

In Gensokyo, being a good storyteller is important. Staying alive is even more important.
