Zhuo Jing Ji

Pang Shicheng, a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, went out to sea to find a way out after failing in the imperial examination. He encountered a storm in the Western Pacific and drifted to the Rakshasa Island, where aesthetics were reversed. Ugliness is respected here, and those who are comely are denounced as "faceless monsters". He almost died because of his appearance, but was saved by Mr. Mo Mian, the owner of the Ugliness Appraisal Hall. Rakshasa Island implements the "Mask Rules", and the people are required to wear coral jade masks. In fact, the royal family melts the skin of children and Chinese people into masks, and uses the "Soul Control Stone" to control the minds of the people. Mr. Mo Mian turned out to be the former prince Murong Zhao, who had been secretly gathering resistance forces for twenty years and vowed to overthrow the tyranny. Under the leadership of Mr. Mo Mian (Murong Zhao), Pang Shicheng partners with the upright ugliness appraisal hall handyman Qing Wen and the fisherman girl Azhi with a special identity. The three people and the rebels went deep into the mask workshop to reveal the truth about "child skin melting armor", and then dived into the seabed to rescue compatriots from the Central Plains. Then everyone rushed to the royal capital to expose the king's conspiracy as a puppet of the "soul-controlling stone" to control the people through the lie of "plague", and locked the "mirror core" of Jinghu Lake as the key to cracking it. Everyone dived into the bottom of the mirror lake to resist the illusion, and touched the mirror core to awaken the people. Coinciding with the "Ugly God's Day", the rebels announced the evidence of the royal family's crimes, setting off a nationwide rebellion, eventually destroying the soul-controlling stone veins and abolishing the "visor rule". After the war subsided, Murong Zhao regained control of Luoshazhou and founded an academy to promote cultural integration; Pang Shicheng returned to the Central Plains to convey friendship. In the following ten years, the two places experienced trade exchanges and mutual cultural learning, creating a legend of the blending of civilizations and the awakening of human nature.
