Song Dynasty Xingcha: Technology Dyes Elegance Between Fireworks

Lu Yuan, a doctor of modern archeology, encountered an accident while cleaning up the remains of Song Dynasty gears at the Jinglongmen archaeological site in Kaifeng. His soul traveled to the suburbs of Bianjing in the first year of Chongning in the Northern Song Dynasty and became a poor scholar of the same name. With expertise in the cultural relics and history of science and technology of the Song Dynasty, he started a different life in the Northern Song Dynasty with half of the gear fragment of the water transport instrument platform. Lu Yuan gave up his high-ranking official position and took the lead in moving cultural relics southward, moving core relics such as the manuscript of "Creating French Style" and movable type molds to the south. Reopened "Jingxingzhai" in Lin'an, established the "Cultural Relics Science and Technology Society", systematically sorted out the scientific and technological achievements of the Song Dynasty, compiled the "Atlas of Scientific and Technological Cultural Relics of the Song Dynasty", and devoted his life to guarding the fire of civilization. This work decodes the civilization of the Song Dynasty from an archaeological perspective. In the undercurrent of fireworks, marketplaces and courts, breakthroughs in technological innovation and persistence in cultural protection are intertwined. It writes a legend of personal destiny and the rise and fall of dynasties, allowing the elegance and technological wisdom of the Song Dynasty to continue across time and space.
