The Beacon Fire Reflects the Original Intention 1937 to 1945

In 1937, the Marco Polo Bridge Incident and the war of resistance swept through China. Lin Xiuzhi, a top student at St. John's University, Shen Weiguo, a veteran of the Northeast Army, and Zhao Yuzhen, a peasant woman from Hebei, three ordinary people stuck to their original aspirations when the nation was in danger and went on the road of struggle together. Lin Xiuzhi gave up the opportunity to go to the United States and lurked as an employee of a foreign company, stealing Japanese city defense maps, passing on intelligence, and using knowledge to protect her country; Shen Weiguo joined the army despite his family feud, and defended his position during the Songhu Battle, breaking through Zhongtiao Mountain to rescue his comrades. In the end, the Eighth Route Army took away the Japanese arsenal and defended the mountains and rivers with blood; Zhao Yuzhen was raided by the Japanese army and her family was destroyed, but she still risked her life to rescue the seriously injured Shen Weiguo, organized women to support the frontline, and even went into the labor force to rescue people, protecting her compatriots with tenacity. During the eight-year war, the fate of three people was intertwined: Lin Xiuzhi provided intelligence to Shen Weiguo, Shen Weiguo blocked the bullet for Zhao Yuzhen, and Zhao Yuzhen used earthwork to save the injured Lin Xiuzhi. They have different positions, but they work side by side for the common goal of "driving out the Japanese invaders." In 1945, Japan surrendered, and the three met again in Nanjing. They understand that the original intention is never to make bold words, but to not flinch or give up every moment in the flames of war. I would like to use this book to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, pay tribute to the heroes who adhere to their original aspirations, and remember the peace that our ancestors sacrificed their lives for.
