Introduction to the work: From 1990 to 2020, Chinese society experienced tremendous changes. Chen Mo, a young man from an old industrial area in Northeast China, was forced to give up his college dream because his father was laid off and went south to work in Shenzhen. From an assembly line worker in an electronics factory to a pioneer in Internet entrepreneurship, his fate is intertwined with that of Zhao Dayong, a veteran-turned-logistics entrepreneur, Lin Xiufang, a single mother struggling in the real estate agency industry, and Zhou Laoci, a ceramic craftsman who adheres to traditional crafts but is on the verge of bankruptcy.
