Pilgrimage in the Mist

Beneath the gilded Victorian era, another world lurked: the foggy swamps echoed with inhuman knocks, the colors in the urban galleries were quietly devouring reality, and in the steam and soot, indescribable malevolence whispered softly. Victor Hawthorne, a lone investigator, walks among these shadows. He relies on ancient rituals and a cool head to deal with "trouble" ignored by the authorities. However, his body is slowly undergoing irreversible changes, giving him power and dragging him into the abyss of sensory overload. From the waterside town haunted by the fish-faced curse, to the clan's lair where fungus grows wildly and is covered in human skin, to the strange ink that distorts reality in the glamorous city... Victor's journey has no end. Carrying a suitcase containing manuscripts and a revolver, he walked on the edge of reason, fighting against the cold malice from the universe and the ignorance of human nature. This is not a heroic epic, but an almost ascetic journey.
