The Bloodstained Pear Garden

After the Battle of Shanghai, Shen Wangshu returned from studying in the United States with an important mission: deliver the radio cipher key to her comrades hiding in Shanghai and restore the intelligence network.

But when she returned to the city, she was met with a ruined family, a lost connection with her organization, and enemies closing in on all sides.

With no one to turn to, Shen Wangshu was forced to take temporary refuge in Yun Ni She, once one of Shanghai’s most famous Peking opera troupes. Were there comrades among those around her, or enemies?

An intelligence novice, caught in the noose of “cultural goodwill” carefully laid by the Japanese, she kept a low profile as she tried to contact her organization and complete her mission. At the same time, she investigated the truth behind her family’s destruction and searched for her missing older brother.

Hatred of the enemy and grief for her family tempered her faith!

In this opera house, she sang of the revolution!
