Great Ming’s Twin-Way Gate: I’m the Jiajing Emperor, and I’ve Successfully Cultivated Immortality!

I, Zhu Houcong, was reborn as the Jiajing Emperor and even got a Daoist temple where I could cultivate immortality for free! Everyone thought I was the history book’s emperor obsessed with elixirs, but they didn’t know I was practicing genuine immortal arts! My imperial cousin died, and I was summoned to succeed him. Someone tried to ambush me on the way? Sorry, one Fireball Talisman will teach you a lesson! The court officials wanted to use the Great Rites Controversy to bring me to heel? Too bad. My three thousand private soldiers, raised on elixirs, had already taken control of the capital! From then on, I could stay away from court with a clear conscience for forty years and focus on my cultivation. Forty years later, I had reached the peak of Foundation Establishment and was invincible in the world! Just as I was about to emerge from seclusion and unite the universe, I discovered a new door in the Daoist temple. On the other side was the twelfth year of Hongwu! That man, the founding Grand Ancestor of my Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, was in his prime. After Zhu Yuanzhang heard my story and witnessed my abilities, he wasn’t shocked or awed. He was consumed by overwhelming fury and murderous intent: “You unworthy descendant! I worked myself to the bone to win this empire so the people could live in peace and prosperity, not so you little brat could hide away and become an immortal! Forty years without attending court? Someone, strip this rebellious grandson of his Daoist robes and put him in an imperial robe. I’ll personally teach him the rules of being an emperor!” “Under the pines, with twin scrolls of scripture, I’ve honed a form like the crane.” “I came seeking the Way, with nothing left to ask. The clouds are in the blue sky, the water in its vessel.”, Thus spoke the True Lord Feixuan, the Imperial Lord of Loyalty and Filial Piety, and the Imperial Lord of Longevity.
