Project Pangu: 2149

Story Outline:

On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2126 CE, Old Lin, a South China Sea fisherman, strayed into a restricted zone while pursuing a school of fish and witnessed a mysterious project on Baiyan Island.

Three years later, the great eastern nation officially announced the launch of the Extraterrestrial Life Exploration Project at the Blue Hall. Codenamed the Pangu Project, it set its sights on the Proxima Centauri system, and the island became the headquarters of Earth's base.

After years of secret construction, the Earth-Moon transport network and the Tiangong lunar base were ready. The Pangu starship and its vessels were also assembled on the Moon. Having overcome a number of crucial frontier technologies,

the Pangu fleet conducted test voyages and scientific surveys of several planets within the solar system, then set off in the autumn of 2133 carrying the seed bank of human civilization.

In the autumn of 2144, the fleet reached the Proxima Centauri system and made a series of discoveries that stunned humanity. Proxima Centauri b, known as Canglin, was a dead world where civilization had been wiped out.

Proxima Centauri c, meanwhile, was home to an active ancient intelligent civilization. Deeply integrated with nature, it showed no signs of technology, yet its people could perceive the world through biological energy fields.

This discovery completely reshaped humanity's understanding of life in the universe. The fleet also found a vast life system beneath the ice-covered ocean of Proxima Centauri d.

On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2149, the Pangu returned to Earth with precious data on the rise and fall of civilizations and the diversity of life. Chief Engineer Lin Hao passed the mission of exploration on to the next generation.

Humanity finally understood that the universe held both the tombstones of civilizations and the miracles of life blooming in silence. Awakened to this truth, a new fleet set sail once more, seeking answers in the depths of the starry sea.
