The Hun-Han Son-in-Law

Duan Feng, a modern-day loser with no money, is reading Records of the Grand Historian when he stumbles into the Xiongnu royal court, right in the middle of a deadly crisis: the Chanyu’s consort has been poisoned. Though he knows nothing about medicine, he uses his knowledge of history to expose the poisoning plot. He escapes with his life, but after disrupting the royal family’s balance of power and proposing trade between the Han and Xiongnu, he is forcibly betrothed to the grasslands’ fiercest princess, Lingxi, because of his grand plan to “help the Xiongnu build an empire spanning Europe and Asia.” From then on, he advances step by step. First, he helps the Xiongnu build their strength through border trade. Then he uses clever schemes to bring the Yuezhi under his command, leading the grassland cavalry west to defeat Persia and launch an expedition against Rome, steadily extending the Xiongnu Empire’s borders farther west. At the same time, he secretly aids Liu Bang, helping the Han dynasty pacify Nanyue and Beiyue and extend its influence to Nanzhao and Malaya. He transforms the confrontation at the Siege of Baideng into a legend of the Han and Xiongnu joining forces to expand their lands. As the grassland’s curved blades and the Han banners point toward the horizon together, a rewritten history of East-West encounters unfolds.
