Body Temperature in the Old Snow

I always think of you in the evening, like I think of a shoe I left on a field ridge many years ago. When the wind blows, the soil in the shoe rustles down. I squat there and look at it for half a lifetime, but I still can't tell whether it's dirt or the words I didn't say back then.
