Abstract: "Binjiang Copper Yuan Ji" is set in Binjiang at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. It revolves around the growth trajectory of the girl Quan'er (formerly known as Xiugu) and connects the family's past events with the changes of the times. The story begins during the harvest season, when Quan'er was given a name by Mrs. Zeng in the governor's courtyard, with the hope of "beginning to sing". His father, Guo Chufan, was a skilled craftsman in the Copper Yuan Bureau, specializing in casting copper coins. From the initial ordinary copper coins to the dragon-patterned copper coins that later symbolized the spirit of Binjiang, his career development mirrored the growth of Quan'er. Mrs. Zeng often told Quan'er about the past, such as interesting stories about combing her bun and the relationship between her great-grandfather and Binjiang, passing on the wisdom and warmth of the years to her. In Quan'er's home, the young mother sticks to the old name of "Xiugu", and Gan Ye uses exquisite craftsmanship to make a wooden box to collect copper coins, showing the continuation of family ties and hometown sentiments in the changing of names and the passage of time. The rise and fall of the Copper Yuan Bureau is an important clue to the story.
