Humanity discovered the "Gate to the Star Abyss", a relic of an ancient civilization in deep space. When activated, it triggered a "tide of consciousness" - some people awakened to extra-dimensional perception. The federal government was afraid of losing control and established the "Pure Fire Project" to eliminate the awakened people; while the awakened people formed the "Star Abyss Society" in an attempt to break through the three-dimensional prison.
