After the Land Sinks, We Build a Boat from Bones

When the last piece of land was erased by the sea,

humanity sold its memories to mycelium,

built cities on rotting rafts, and pretended it was still in charge.

Seventeen-year-old Lin Juan, a boy who drives nails for a living, listened day after day to the sound of beams breaking.

Until a man named Ye Yi appeared

claiming he would tear down the entire city and build a ship to sail toward the abyss,

to search for a name long since cursed: land.

The city raged. The people jeered.

But the beams still quietly died at night,

and every collapse spoke in Ye Yi's favor.

So some broke their bones to make nails, some cut out their memories to make sails,

some planted their hearts in salt-crusted wastelands,

all to answer a question they could no longer avoid

If there is no destination,

would we still be willing to spend our whole lives trying to reach it?

"After the Land Sank, We Broke Our Bones to Build a Boat"

A slow-burning epic of drifting, betrayal, and rebirth.

Wood rots. Bones turn to ash.

But every ending grows a ring of wood that runs against the grain.
