Contemplating the Dao and Longevity

Deep in Yunling, there is a charcoal-burning col. In the wild winter of that year, a woman who had lost three children carried her newly born son up to the ridge. In front of a headless stone Buddha, she lit the last stick of incense at home and asked for only one thing: to let him live forever. The incense burned all night and it was not short. The next eleven hundred years have not been short. This child's name is Yu Changsheng. His talent is mediocre, and he started three years later than others, but he has a pair of visible eyes: the light in things, the threads in people's hearts, and the cause and effect in the world are connected one by one. The world's practice is called "viewing": observing things, observing people, observing the world, observing oneself, and observing the Tao. The sect teaches people to cut off all worries, and if the heart does not move, it will not be broken. But the one in his heart couldn't be cut off - if it was cut off, he would be gone. Two children also grew up in the same col. My elder brother, Yu Du, once saw his sword bones for three hundred years, drew his sword for an unrelated person. Later, he was imprisoned under a tower by the river and refused to recognize him for a thousand years. The neighbor's younger brother renamed himself Zhao and was sold to the capital to copy history books. He only did one thing in his life: write down the truth. There is also a thin county magistrate with very clean hands. One stick of incense, three children, four dynasties, eleven hundred years.
