My Best Friend and I Became a Mother-in-Law and Daughter-in-Law in a Rich-Family Melodrama

[A sweet-looking, secretly ruthless fake daughter-in-law X a sharp-tongued, fake stepmother with a green-tea act X best friends pretending to hate each other as they play out a melodramatic wealthy-family saga] A bolt of lightning hurls Shen Anyu and Yan Xi into a melodramatic rich-family novel. The former becomes the male lead’s replacement for his one true love, while the latter becomes the new flame of his father. From best friends, they become mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Shen Anyu: [Help, why does this male lead have a wife and still want a replacement for his one true love?!] Yan Xi: [Heh, the male lead’s mother is still alive, and he’s already eager to call me Mom.] The woman who seems to be trapped in a tragic romance is not even the daughter-in-law, yet she’s saddled with the role of the pitiful little white flower tormented by the whole family. The woman who seems to be a pampered canary isn’t even officially married in, yet she’s been made the scumbag father’s precious darling. When they compare notes, they realize something is wrong. Not only are their mother-in-law and daughter-in-law roles absurd, but their lives are in danger, too. Fortunately, the transmigration bureau gives them part of the script and the golden finger of being able to communicate telepathically. Shen Anyu and Yan Xi pretend to hate each other, bickering every day like a pair of roosters, while secretly working together to improve the lot of these “ill-fated in-laws.” The little victim who was abused to death turns into a sweet-looking, secretly ruthless schemer. Whenever she’s mistreated, tears well in her eyes. “Ah, that hurts. Sister, please don’t hit me in the face. Yuxing will be heartbroken if he sees.” The canary who was after money but nearly got killed turns into a sharp-tongued green-tea schemer. Whenever someone looks down on her, she complains in a sweet voice. “Honey, she isn’t just insulting me. She’s insulting you, too. She thinks my dear old man is nothing~” The male lead and the scumbag father are fooled again and again. Unable to actually lay a hand on each other’s “precious darlings,” they can only pay to make the trouble go away. Shen Anyu and Yan Xi cheer each other on: “We’ve got this! Next time, let’s put on a different act. We’re sure to win!”
