The Age of Entropy: Manifesto of the Awakened

After the Third World War in 2125, the nuclear war destroyed the old civilization, the earth's ecology completely collapsed, the climate was disordered, and it became a nuclear wasteland. Nuclear radiation causes human survivors to undergo bipolar mutations. Some become irrational "aberrants", while others awaken extraordinary abilities and become "evolvers." Evolvers are both rejected by the old human city-states and are also regarded as guardians by some low-level survivors. Some extreme evolvers become thugs and exacerbate the chaos in the wasteland. Nuclear war burned the foundation of human science and technology, and human civilization regressed to the steam age. Giant steam power towers maintained the fragile operation of city-states. After the catastrophe, the four forms of intelligence coexisted with difficulty, competing against each other: Weak humans: Their genes are not contaminated, and the bottom class struggles to survive in the steam city-states. The remaining human elites move to the "Garden of Eden" on Mars, control the legacy "matrix" AI system, and use the earth's city-states as colonies to plunder resources; Evolvers: They gather in oasis to form loose tribes. They suffer from discrimination and oppression. Some of them trade with humans in exchange for supplies. Some extreme ones become plunderers and fall into a vicious cycle; Mechanical cyborgs: They are a combination of human body and steam mechanical prosthetics. They travel among all parties. Most of them are attached to the human elite, and a few are allied with the evolved ones. They are regarded as aliens by both parties; AI robots: Most are controlled by the "Matrix" and perform tasks as the ruling tools of the Martian elite. A few programs abnormally escape control and live in seclusion in the wasteland. The wasteland environment is dangerous, clean water, food, and crystal fuel are extremely scarce. All parties are competing for survival and the future. The old civilization has been destroyed, the new world is groping forward in the smoke, and the future is unknown.
