"The Theory of Parents' Unkindness" by Kong Rong/burning lanterns makes the days long and the nights long
Everyone in the world says that their parents are kind and they are as tall as a mountain; they also say that the emperor is kind and that they are as vast as the sky. Yu Du thought otherwise. Those who are kind are those who give to others and receive what they receive. The giver has a heart and the recipient has knowledge, and then the kindness is established. Now look at the relationship between parents and children, and the relationship between kings and people. Do you have any intention? Is there any Zhihu? What relationship should a father have to his son? In terms of its original intention, it is actually about lust. When desire is released, the child becomes cute. For example, when spring rain moistens things, it is not intended to affect the vegetation, but the vegetation grows on its own; when thunder shakes the sky, it is not intended to affect the insects, but the insects arise on their own. If the life of insects and insects is the favor of rain and thunder, then the world will be extremely ignorant! What does a mother do to her son? For example, if something is stored in a bottle, it will be separated when it comes out. What kind of favor does a bottle have to an object? When it is sent, the bottle is affected by it; when it is released, the two have nothing to do with each other. Today, people only see the labor of ten months, but they don't know that the mother is tired by the child, and the child is tied by the mother. How can we say that we are tired of each other? Maybe it is said: I was born with great labor, and Haotian is indifferent. Yu Yingzhi said: Those who work hard are nourishing, not regenerating. Those who live in this world without raising them will be left on the road or abandoned in the wild. When their children grow up, who would they rather know who their parents are? There are also those who raise someone who was not born to them, hold their son in their arms, and care for their orphaned infants, and their sons will be grateful to them, and they will be rewarded throughout their lives. From this point of view, the reward of the son is not the one who gave birth to it, but the one who nourished it. The husband's support is a kindness, not just that of a father and a son. Why should this be different between the king and his ministers? In ancient times, the king was established for the people, not the people for the king. The kings of Yao and Shun weathered the wind and rain, plowed the fields to educate the people, controlled the floods to calm the people, and made calendars to teach the people. This is the true kindness of the king. As for Jie and Zhou, they were born as kings, but they abused the people to get their own way, deprived the people of their own power, and the people all wanted to die with him. Jie and Zhou treated the people without harm, but how could the people be so kind? So that the people of Jie and Zhou would rather live without a king than with a king. From this point of view, what the people wear is not for life, but for nourishment. It may be said: The position of the king is destiny, and the people should respect it. Yu Yingzhi said: When the king is on the throne, is it for the sake of the people's livelihood? Maybe he inherited his father's and brother's legacy, or he faked the power of the military revolution, or he was lucky enough to be above the ninth level. What you seek is power, what you seek is benefit, and it was not for all the people in the first place. However, the people carry the king for survival and serve the king for nourishment, just like water carries boats and fire cooks food. Water does not intend to float the boat, but the boat floats by itself; fire does not intend to cook fresh food, but the food cooks itself. The king relies on the power of the people to secure his position, but he thinks he is a favor. If the water and fire use floating boats and cooked food to show their favor, it will be very confusing! I have seen that parents in the world often ask for favors at the expense of their children, using filial piety as a pledge, and repaying it to their children. A rare failure is regarded as unfilial; a slight disobedience is regarded as disobedience. Little did he know that the so-called filial piety comes from nature and cannot be achieved by force. If you want to give birth to a child, then even though the son is filial, he can still do business in the market, so why is it valuable? The person who is a king today is still like this. They use destiny to invite loyalty, fake ancestral heritage to repay with punishment, use honor and salary as bait, and use punishment as power. People's loyalty is noble when it comes from their own hearts, but it is cheap when forced by threats and punishments. If the position is important, then even though the people are loyal, the dogs and horses are also obedient, so why is it so valuable? But loyalty is loyalty, what if it is? In ancient times, the so-called loyal ones were not those who flattered others, nor were they docile, nor did they dare to leave because they were favored by their position. Please discuss it. Confucius said: "The king treats his ministers with courtesy, and the ministers serve the king with loyalty." If the king is unjust, the ministers can go; if the father is unkind, the son can remonstrate. This is a matter of course. In the past, when King Wu attacked Zhou, Uncle Qi of Boyi knocked on his horse and remonstrated. This was not disloyal, but a shame to the tyrant. When Confucius went to Lu, he delayed his departure. It was not disloyal, but the way did not suit his ears. Among the ancient sages, I have never heard of anyone who took life as a favor and was foolishly loyal. A loyal person is loyal to his way, not his position. If you have the right way, you will follow it; if you don't have the right way, you will go away. This is the great virtue of a scholar. If a husband holds him, feeds him, teaches him, and teaches him, despite all the hardships, he will never give up. This is true kindness, and even if he has no teeth, he will not dare to forget it. The same is true for those who are kings: light corvees and small taxes are to support the people; sparing punishments and light punishments are to bring peace to the people; establishing schools and educating the people are to transform the people. If you can do this, even if the people don't want to be loyal, you won't get it; if you can't do this, even if the people want to be loyal, they won't be able to do it. Yu Gu said: The one who gives birth is Heaven, which is beyond what humans can do; the one who nourishes is humans, which is what humans should do. This is true for father and son, and it is also true for kings and ministers. How can it be reasonable for the world to regard the merits of Heaven as human virtue, to regard the position obtained by chance as Heaven's favor, and to regard a life in vain as a reward for real nourishment? Today's commentators say that the king and his ministers are like father and son, and loyalty and filial piety are the same. I think otherwise. Father and son are by nature; monarch and minister are by righteousness. Although a father and a son are unkind, they cannot be cut off; if a monarch or his ministers are unjust, they can go away. Those who can leave as an example of something that cannot be eliminated are to make people in the world dare not leave even if they encounter a tyrant, just like they encounter an evil father. I am arguing this, not because I want to deny the relationship between father and son, and the relationship between monarch and minister, but because I want to understand the true nature of father and son, and the foundation of monarch and minister. Those who make the world a parent do not rely on their birth to invite favors; those who are kings do not rely on their position to demand loyalty. If each performs his part and maintains his own path, then the relationship between father and son will be upright, and the relationship between king and minister will be clear. If you regard Yu Yan as a rebellious person, please look at the three generations or more, is there anyone who has invited favors through life? Is there anyone who is loyal to his position? In the age of Chun Chun, father and son were close to each other, monarch and ministers enjoyed each other, and the name of kindness and righteousness was not heard; in the age of Chun Chun, father and son blamed each other, monarch and ministers were suspicious of each other, and the words of kindness and righteousness were complicated. However, the theory of kindness and righteousness is enough to destroy the relationship between father and son and break up the righteousness between monarch and ministers.
Kong Rong's unkind parents actually opposed foolish filial piety. He wanted to show that children do not have to blindly obey their parents, which is an enlightened idea. However, it was treason in Confucianism, which emphasized loyalty and filial piety. Cao Cao used this reason to kill him. Otherwise, with his status in Confucianism, Cao Cao would not be able to kill him without reason.
The Confucians are religious priests. The so-called Confucianism is actually Confucianism. The characteristic of religion is double standards.
When Kong Rong was serving as Prime Minister of Beihai, he saw a man crying at the graveside of his late father on the road, but his face was not haggard at all. Kong Rong then killed the man. It is a shame for evil beasts like Kong Rong to stay in the world
In ancient times, a county could support 800 to 1,000 soldiers, and a state could support 50,000 soldiers, not to mention this. This was in the peaceful years and in troubled times, there were more than this.
