After Accusing Me of Stealing Data, My Genius Girlfriend Regretted It

My academic prodigy girlfriend’s childhood friend accused me of stealing his experimental data. All my colleagues clutched their computers and kept their distance from me. But the first person to step forward and declare me guilty was none other than my girlfriend, Lin Yiqing. She believed her childhood friend without a second thought and even threatened to have me blacklisted. “I regret bringing you here. You’re not fit to do academic research!” I was a poor student, and during our school days I secretly dated Lin Yiqing, the rich beauty. But in everyone else’s eyes, Lin Yiqing and her wealthy childhood friend were the perfect couple. I naively thought that if I worked hard enough, I could bridge the gap between us and earn everyone’s respect. Now I understand that the person who looked down on me most was Lin Yiqing herself. Forced to leave the research institute, I changed my name and vanished without a trace. Later, I heard that this lofty genius of a biologist spent eight whole years looking for me.
