My Wife’s Love Is 1,300 Miles Away

My wife got us matching phone cases. When I was heading out, I accidentally took her phone instead of mine, so I had to use her ride-hailing app to get a car. To my surprise, a Mercedes E-Class showed up. It was a perk reserved for customers who had traveled a certain distance with the app, while my wife was just an ordinary office worker. I opened her ride history. It showed a total of 1,300 miles. It was 38 degrees in the summer, but I felt as if I were in the dead of winter. Her trips were from home to hotels late at night, from the office to bars, and even from home to hotels in another city in the middle of the night. The trips were frequent and never stopped. I'd been away on business all year, and it was obvious what this long list of rides meant.
