While the Typhoon Swept My Daughter Away, My Wife Was Comforting Her First Love

A super typhoon was bearing down, but my wife locked me and our daughter outside. Our daughter had eaten a piece of the mango cake she’d made for her first love. As the wind howled, I clutched my daughter’s hand and begged, “Please, let me and our daughter inside.” “Being outdoors during a typhoon can get people killed.” But she angrily locked the door from the inside. “What use are you alive, you good-for-nothing?” “You can’t even keep an eye on a six-year-old. You let her steal my cake.” “I won’t let anyone ruin what I feel for Song Ci.” My daughter and I huddled in the corner as the strong wind suddenly snatched the stuffed toy from her hands. She wrenched herself free of my grasp and ran after it, crying, “That’s the little bunny Mommy gave me!”
