My Wife Set Off Fireworks Across the City for Her One True Love

On the fifth anniversary of my marriage to Shi Xin, she set off fireworks across the city for me. All our friends said Shi Xin was such a wonderful wife, loving and romantic. But the words spelled out by the final fireworks were: “Happy birthday, Gu Chen.” Gu Chen was Shi Xin’s first love. Shi Xin said, “Oh, Gu Chen’s birthday is today too. They must have set off the wrong fireworks.” That night, Gu Chen posted on his social media: “A man is a boy until the day he dies. A romantic gesture gone hilariously wrong.”
