Reborn, My Senior Brother Killed Me to Prove His Dao

My senior brother and I descended the mountain to enter into contracts with beastfolk, intending to choose one each as our Dao companion. He chose a beautiful mermaid, while I chose a battle-hardened snake woman. Who could have guessed the mermaid would be too frail to fight, allowing the demon clans to capture him and subject him to endless torture? Meanwhile, the snake woman fought by my side, helping me slay the demon clan leader and make a name for myself throughout the cultivation world. Overcome with jealousy and hatred, my senior brother blew himself up, taking me with him. After being reborn, he contracted with the snake woman before I could. I laughed. He knew only that the snake woman had helped me, not that I had helped her. Without me, it made no difference whom he chose.
